If you’re getting married, you need to do a few things. For one thing, don’t listen to anyone but me and Emily Post. So, you need to know about Goodwill’s Wedding Gala. Most of the dresses are brand new and donated from local shops. I wish I would have done it. I loved my dress but it’s almost embarrassing how much it cost. You need to get to the Rivergate store tonight. Yes, it’s Saturday morning but these folks are playing around. Here’s some advice from Goodwill’s blog.
Next, you’ll need me to review your invitations. It’s a not so secret passion of mine. For real. Send them. I’m on a mission to rid people of poorly written and inappropriate invitations. I judge them. I always have. I’m not proud of it. I almost always find something. I’ve thought of making a list of rules, but most rules can be found in any and all editions of Emily Post’s Etiquette. Your grandmother will thank me.
This week I was back in New Hampshire and Maine. I returned the rug and it pained me a little. I didn’t have a place for it, but that’s never stopped me from wanting. If you’re ever near Portsmouth, New Hampshire – go.
A bunch of tasty food and cute shops. What else do you want?
I have an idea of what The Mister does when I’m on the road.

I found this graphic on Pinterest and it makes me laugh.
The Mister wanted to “rickroll” a dance at our wedding, which we did. I don’t think
many people anyone got it. It didn’t help that he had forgotten the instructions and what was going to happen. So, I almost had to drag him out to the dance floor as he was very confused when “I Will Always Love You” started. Then, the DJ said “RICKROLL!” (which is not typically done and through me off) and started the real song. I want to say it was something funny. I’m sure it was a dance song. I seems I have blocked it out. However, this is a photo of me trying to “act cool” during the rickroll.
I know things didn’t go as planned, nobody got it and I hadn’t eaten much. I was in a weird alternate place where I just wanted to dance. (This probably doesn’t surprise you because of this story.)
Actually, I never ate during the reception. I refused to leave the dance floor.
Now, what I do know is if I hear “Book of Love” by Peter Gabriel (which was our first dance) I think of Rick Astley yet it evokes sentimental emotion. It’s weird. Thankfully, that song never comes on the radio nor do I own it. You can hear it here. This is us during it.
We should have just played “Never Gonna Give You Up” as our first song. Poor Peter Gabriel shouldn’t be mixed up in this.

Yesterday, was The Mister and I’s first anniversary. I will still call us newlyweds, particularly because I still have a few things to complete. One of those things is our photography. I remember thinking I would never be a person to put our wedding album or the ordered prints on the back-burner but here I am.
Our photographer was Krista with Krista Lee Photography. There were many details to our wedding that I was wishy-washy on or questioned, but Krista was something I knew from the beginning. She is super cute – I call her to this day “Polly Pocket.” I find something about her precious. Plus, she is so petite you may be able to fold her up and place her in your pocket. Krista and her assistant, Sam, were great before and during the wedding. Attentive to details, kind and non-intrusive. I plan on using Krista for any and all important photos The Mister and I will need forevermore.
We have over 3,500 wedding day photos and I had to narrow them down to 60 for the book. This was no easy task. Some of our favorite photos of us are below.
