There are a few blogs (Aesthetic Oiseau, CoCo+Kelley,High-Heeled Foot in the Door, High Street Market) talking about the Black and Spiro’s ad in Ivy & Piper. Black and Spiro is Anna Spiro’s shop and she has a great blog called Absolutely Beautiful Things.  I bet you can guess what the buzz is about.

Surprise, it’s the lamps.

The shades are covered in otomi fabric. I love otomi fabric but it can be pricey. Personally, I feel like it was a good use of the fabric as those lamp shades are the focal point and simply killer.

Otomi fabric had a rush of popularity because of this popular headboard originally published in Domino.

Then, a super smartie created this DIY of the headboard.

Both the original headboard photo and the DIY are from Design*Sponge. You can follow the link to see the DIY instructions. I have always liked this headboard and we still need one. So, I did an ebay search and found this beauty.

I feel a search of eBay and Jacaranda coming on.

I have had a pair of cream lamps from TJMaxx for some time – maybe a year. Recently, I have been seeing them, in varying colors, make their way around the blogosphere.

During a recent trip to Homegoods I found a few colorful lamps. Of course, I stopped and looked them all over.  They were all $34.99 each and I had to share them with you.

These would be perfect for any little girl’s room or a beautiful pink room. I want to paint a room pink.

I want this. Mister, are you reading? Maybe I should start with pink lamps.

I considered these, but I need no more lamps. I quickly realized it was a pointless look over. Their color is quite pretty, particularly around the edges. I vote for piping around the top and bottom of the shade or painting the edges with fabric paint.

There was only one of each and they’d be a terrible couple of bedside  lamps. However, they’d be a great punch of color in a bathroom (if you are blessed with a large enough bath for furniture) or in a kitchen. I’d pick the yellow. Alas, I already have two lamps in my tiny galley kitchen. I prefer their shape over the pink and green lamps seen above.

How many lamps are too many? We are in desperate need of lighting, particularly in our den. There is no overhead lighting. The entire room is lit by three lamps and one of them does most of the work. I wish you all a wonderful Presidents’ Day and Valentine’s Day.

Be good, be safe, be back
