I like most things Kate Spade, including her popular dot or confetti motif.
I decided to use this motif to be my inspiration to decorate the mats of our hallway photos. I used the small, mutli-colored “color coding” stickers below from a local teacher supply store.
I randomly scattered them onto the mat. I don’t have a photo of this process or a very good description. The best I have is that I would work from left to right across the sheet to put each colored dot on the mat. I worked on one corner of the mat at a time. I only did three mats to make sure I didn’t completely commit to something in case I didn’t like it. I’m glad I did this, because I’m not sure I care for it. Here are my side-by-side before and afters.
The top frame is a photo of my grandmother, the middle frame is of The Mister and I at two of our friends’ weddings and the last frame is a photo of my parents on their wedding day.
I decided I would like the dots/confetti more if the photos were all black and white. However, I’m not sure I can commit it to all the frames as there are 10 frames currently and will be approximately 17 in all if we ever get them all up. So, what do you think? With or without the dots?
