A few days ago, while doing my grocery shopping at Kroger, I saw this.

Insert me stopping mid-aisle and backing up

I was at the Green Hills Kroger so I wasn’t at a Kroger Marketplace. I’ve only been to a Marketplace on the road but know some outlying areas have them. I haven’t seen Kroger sell dishes before and I was real excited about them being Blue Willow. Plus, there sale signs.

Here is the only picture of pricing that is readable.

After scrutinizing photos, here are the prices I’ve confirmed:

  • Dinner plate $5.24
  • Salad plate $3.75
  • Cereal bowl $3.75
  • Soup bowl $3.75
  • Large serving bowl $14.99
  • 14″ Oval Platter $20.24
  • Covered casserole $44.99

I think a grouping of Blue Willow can be really pretty on a wall.

However, I don’t think it looks great on your back.

Full disclosure I was born and raised in Clarksville. (Do I hear you judging me? I promise people/things are not getting shot, abused or stolen as often as the news makes you believe. Okay…maybe they are. I don’t know. That all happens ”on the other side of The Bridge.”) I was there to see my parents and brother this past weekend. My mother has a booth at another antique mall that she’s closing. It’s not been fun for her in a long time (years).  She’s a busy lady and it was meant to be a hobby. We went in Lucille’s out of curiosity, not wanting to dust our own shiz and she knows some peeps on the waiting list.

Miss Lucille’s Marketplace is a new antique mall in Clarksville, Tennessee.  It has antique, clothing, children’s bows and things and handmade item booths.  There is mishmash of stuff but’s well-organized. Like all malls there are some winning booths and there are others that make you pause out of concern. For example, there were at least three girls and two women I shook my head at that were shopping in a booth that sold items that were cheaply made and of no fashion trend I know of.  Like they sold purses that had beads hanging off the zippers (plural because zippers were decorative) and little round mirrors stitched on the outside. It made my head hurt and it made me want to say “Stop Yo’self!” Instead I just made a stink face and moved on because in the booth across from it still had this dish set I spied the last time we were there.

There are seven saucers and only three cups but I still want it.

There was this blue and white Chinoiserie trinket box.

I wanted this tortoise shell bamboo wall shelf but I believe it was $200+. That makes my bathroom sad. It wanted to be friends.

This bamboo chaise is in the booth across from the entrance. It needs a better cushion but it could be super cute.

I considered these needlepoints for our kitchen, but I don’t have wall space. Maybe I’ll use them as a backsplash. If there were enough of them that I could line them up then we’d be on a path I could take.

My mother was trying to sell me this rattan set. Sadly, I don’t need it. However, you may and it could be amazeballs if you bust out some spray paint.

She also liked this chartreuse cushioned chair which was very surprising. It was good, I liked it, but I wouldn’t have guessed she’d like it.

Brass office chairs like the ones below are making appearances on the interwebs. (Look here.) People are reupholstering them and they look pretty solid. These were $12.00 a piece and they had probably six.

Who doesn’t need a concrete set of Snow White and The Seven Dwarves?

Everybody needs it and there is only one set. You better beat the rush.

Overall, some good finds. They have a lot of primitives which I’m not interested in and took no photos of.  It’s by far the most organized and coolest (as in it’s not blazing hot) antique mall in Clarksville. It’s the also the busiest. They have a wait list for vendors but they take consignment items. It’s worth a drop in if you’re in the area. Feel free to buy me any of the listed items – except Snow White. Actually, buy it. She’d be cute with The Dwarves by our shed.

I know you’re as excited as I am to be back at work after the holiday. Let’s not talk about it and look at some pretty pictures. In honor of Independce Day here is a collection of blue and white bedrooms. After all, I’m sure we all would prefer to be in bed.

Last Wednesday, I shared a link that I saw from Emily Henderson. She shared it for some gold, self-adhesive and repositional paper.

I said I would look around and look I did. I looked here.

I looked there.

It’s self-adhesive (like the gold) and comes in red, brown, green and blue.
I could use it as a cheap and quick backsplash until we do the marble tile.

Of course, they have marble.

They even have a tile pattern.

Blech.

They also have granite.

Double blech.

I’d rather go pattern over faux. Let’s look at another pattern to erase the blech.

That’s more like it.
