This weekend we went to another concert. This time it was for the Avett Brothers and we had awesome seats. Allow me to make you a tad jealous.
We had pit tickets and it was the jam. I could have been spit on and I would have found that acceptable – if by the band not by any of the surrounding hipsters. The Mister took a hundred pictures and we both have videos on Vine.
I decided to take out a 20-year-old purse.
I believe I got it when I was 10, maybe 9. It was my first Coach bag. I got a Dooney and Bourke bag before it which I still have too. If we ever have a daughter, I’ll let her have it. It’s lines are not as classic, so I don’t think I can get away with carrying it. They’re both in great shape. Here I am being weird with it.
I was introduced to Nudify. Get that app right now. I can’t stop. Here’s an example photo of me with my girl JBKH.
This post is not about The War Between the States, nor is it about the election. However, I do type it as I watch results come in. I definitely care about the results, but political news and views are not the reason(s) you tune in here. This post is about the sadness I have about The Civil Wars. Yesterday, they announced this:
We sincerely apologize for the canceling of all of our tour dates. It is something we deeply regret. However, due to internal discord and irreconcilable differences of ambition we are unable to continue as a touring entity at this time. We thank each and every one of you for your amazing love & support. Our sincere hope is to have new music for you in 2013.
Insert me panicky and making weird moaning sounds
The Civil Wars are the jam. You need to listen to them. They won a pair of Grammys and in September won the Americana Music Association award for Duo/Group of the year. John Paul and Joy met in Nashville during a writing camp. Joy lives in East Nashville. I am proud of their Nashville “roots”, but they’d be amazing no matter where they came from. I want more music to come from their vocal cords. I hope they’re not “Falling.”
Lyrics: Haven’t you seen me sleep walking Cause I’ve been holding your hand Haven’t you noticed me drifting Oh, let me tell you I am
Tell me it’s nothing Try to convince me That I’m not drowning Oh, let me tell you I am
Please, please tell me you know I’ve got to let you go I can’t help falling Out of love with you
Why I am feeling so guilty Why I am holding my breath Worry about everyone but me I just keep losing myself
Tell me it’s nothing Try to convince me That I’m not drowning Oh let me tell you I am
Please, please tell me you know I’ve got to let you go I can’t help falling Out of love with you
Oh, won’t you read my mind Don’t you make me lie here, and die here Please, Please tell me you know I’ve got to let you go I can’t help falling Out of love with you
Like many people in many different cities, I don’t typically go to attractions or festivities within my own town. So, I don’t go to CMA Fan Fare. I’ve been a few times over the years but I have never attended the entire festival and don’t have a desire to do so. However, I was bummed that Emily Henderson was in town and I didn’t get to stalk her some missed her.
HGTV did a white box challenge based on the song nominated at the CMAs. Her room was fantasy based. It included gold stripes, pink flowers and a swan. SAY WHAT?! We all know what I think about swans.
Though I love the swan, and the idea, it is a little creepy. I may not like it if I woke up and saw it peering down on me.
But I do like the gold stripes. She says it’s very easy to use and shared her source. The paper comes 18″ wide and 50′ long for $90. Plus, it’s repositionable. I’ll be checking that out.

If you know what the Fairest of the Fair pageant is, I was probably there with you. I’ll share some photos – one day.
