Archive for the ‘Etsy’ Category

You heard me. This post is about baby hats.

I’ve been asked about the Raggedy Ann wig from this post a couple of times and I cannot find who sells it. The seller that uses that photo is Amarmi. I’m not sure about the seller nor am I sure about Raggedy Ann wigs besides they’re readily available on Etsy. However, I am sure that babies in hats can be cute and they’re available at Amarmi.

She’s super cute for Easter and I’d obnoxiously take a bajillion photos of her ready for church.

Here’s my card

I’m in need of calling cards. I have business cards and have calling cards for the blog. However, I need some that are more plain in information – like all you get is my name and contact information. Old school contact information. I’m rarely on Twitter and find myself on Facebook less and less.  Here are some contenders.

Leafy

I adore perusing Absolutely Beautiful Things. Anna Spiro has beautiful taste and I love her aesthetic. She doesn’t regularly post and I love seeing what she shares like this photo of her shop, Black and Spiro.

Yes, the pillow is this fabric. The fabric on the lampshade is Peter Dunham’s fig leaf and is an instant classic. It’s been shown many places and I always like it.

here

It inspired me to look for “knock off” or similar fabrics. None of them were close enough for me, espeically since none were fig leaves. Still, here’s what I found.

I found a Tommy Bahama Banana Leaf tablecloth at Tuesday Morning for $30.00.

I don’t care for the dark brown leaves.

Of course, I’m going to keep an eye out on eBay for a remnant. So, if you have any of Peter Dunham’s fig leaf laying around please let me know.

I have long liked McCoy Pottery, but I don’t know enough about it. I plan/vow to myself that I’m going to get some books and really study up on it. Right now, I just like what I like and have a few pieces. Here is some of what I like:

Bead and Leaf Planter

Green Bead and Leaf Planter

Trio of bamboo planters

These would be great for a set of herbs or a trio of succulents. This planter would be great too.

Tulip trio

Egg Cookie Jar

Teal Honeycomb Cookie Jar

Tiny planter

McCoy yellow bamboo planters

There are a few other of these pieces available here and here.

Frog planter

I’ll have to go through my pieces as I need some small planters for our kitchen and my vanity. However, I know I would like some bead and leaf pieces. That frog is tempting too.

With the Fourth of July coming up, it’s easy to become patriotic. I’m not sure what the word is for when you become proud of your state/hometown, but you should do that too. Here are some items to help you with that.

Tennessee is the best. Obviously. It’s the only ten I see.
I recognize how awful of a joke/pun that is.

I have a necklace in the shape of Tennessee, pre-Etsy, but I like this one better. Now, it’s so much easier to find that stuff.

I had to throw something in from Raygun.

Ceramic Pairs

I lost the auction for the Staffordshire dogs from here. I’m really bummed about it because I liked that set and they were really reasonable. I was in an area of the country with little cell service so I had  no way of making bids when it came close to the end of the auction. I’m going to stay on the look out for another pair as I agree with y’all on the This and That. However, it was close between them and the flamingos. Therefore, I’m sharing other cermaic pairs I found while shopping/browsing the internets.

I was inspired to look for ceramic set after the tangerine topiary from here. Do you have any favorites above? Let me know if you find a set of Staffordshire dogs while you’re out and about, please.

Sad day…

I found this set of lampshades and was super excited.

That was until I noticed all the water stains. (Insert sad trombone sound) They have some other signs of wear, but the water stains are my stopping point. I looked up a few things on removing water stains from lamp shades (here, here and here) but for $85.00 and $30.00 in shipping I’m not willing to risk it. However, I’m sure they will haunt me and cause me to search for more remedies.

Etsy going ons

After yesterday’s post, I searched through Etsy to see what else was going on. Here is what I found:

yellow leather bangles with silver tube beads

vintage lucite basket

feathered hat

pair of mid-century lamps

vintage 60s watercolor dress
Ignore this woman’s hair.

pink crystal gilt sconces

Have you purchased anything from Etsy? Do you have any favorite shops? Do you dislike the dress? I’m on the fence.
