West Elm currently has their bedding 20% off. Their Organic Ironwork Duvet Set is included and it looks like this.

It made me think about Schumacher’s Conundrum in Peacock.

However, Conundrum is $213 a yard. So, the West Elm duvet is allowed to not be as pretty as it’s $63.00 to $87.00. So, you could buy one yard of Conundrum or a duvet from West Elm and a Chiang Mai pillow with monies left over for a quilt or more pillows.

I like it in the Mocha colorway, the black welt and the lumbar size. It’s a super winner.

I will not buy the pillow. I will not buy the pillow. I’m not supposed to be buying pillows.

As you know, I like otomi fabric. Therefore, I’m a fan of Serena & Lily’s Marlo bedding collection.

The Mister and I have some friends that plan to not find out the sex of their baby. The Marlo collection is found under the “It’s A Surprise” section. I imagine it is hard to not find out if you’re having a boy or a girl for lots of reasons. However, I’m sure one reason people cave is that it can be difficult to decorate the baby’s room without knowing.

Recently, I have been on the hunt for a throw or blanket. It’s probably because I desperately look forward to Fall.

I still like Pottery Barn’s Bobble-Knit Throw, as mentioned in a previous post. (found here)

West Elm’s Pom Pom Throw

West Elm’s Chunky Tassel Throw

ZGallerie’s Bird Throw -I’d like it better if it came in something other black and white. I’d prefer navy.

It’s all in my head

We need a headboard. Currently, our bed is simply a frame. I have looked at many of the DIY versions of headboards but most require you to attach the board to the wall. Our bed is in front of a window. We tried this as I made a headboard using Young House Love’s tutorial (found here). It looks okay but the downfalls are this:

  • If you don’t have the nails in the wall at an angle, that sucker will fall on top of you. More than once I rolled over, adjusting my pillows and whabam the whole thing came crashing down.
  • It’s pretty plain.
  • I’d rather have something prettier.

Michelle, at Three Men and a Lady, suggests using 1×2′ legs and leave your headboard basically wedged between the wall/window and your bed (found here). I’m not a huge fan of either suggestion, but may try the wedging technique.

Here are some of my favorite headboards:

Isn’t the fabric gorgeous?

If I stick with my current square, maybe I could fake some tufting?

Don’t get me started on the dresser.

Adding a piping detail may be easier…

Mother may I?

My latest obsession, what I check at least once a day, is Pottery Barn’s velvet drapes. They are currently on sale, as is shipping. They are not carried in stores. So, I cannot rub myself against check them out. However, my mother has ordered samples of them and I look forward to seeing them. Hopefully, she will share. I’m sure she will. She’s a good egg. My favorite colors are wheat and stone.

Stone

Wheat
P.S. These drapes are shown in double width panels. Therefore, they are extra lust worthy.

The Glacier Blue is striking, but maybe too bold?

I’m sure many of you, particularly the boys, would agree that these are better than the floral fabric that has littered the blog as I’ve searched for our master bedroom drapes. What is your favorite color?

As you know from last week’s post, I have found Burke Decor. Today I am sharing curtain finds.

Pink Poppy

Could I get away with it, instead of my mater bedroom crush?

The Mister may prefer this.

Master bedroom crush

This past weekend I found this:

The wallpaper and fabric is Thibaut’s Chelsea pattern in Coco

I like it – a lot. I asked The Mister for his opinion. It was, “It’s pink.” Boys. It’s mostly cream. However, I cannot hide that there is a good amount of pink. Therefore, I’d probably go for just curtains and a headboard in the fabric. I’ve already requested prices (it is trade only) as I could not find it anywhere on eBay or elsewhere.
