Archive for the ‘Craigslist’ Category

I recently came across this image on Pinterest.

from Shannon’s blog here (You’ll get sucked in)

I’m a fan of that dresser and it’s not as easy as I originally thought to find a dresser with a similar shape/style. However, I found this on my friend Craig’s list.

It’s listed for $300 which is more than $60 and that is what I was thinking. Plus, I’d kinda hate to paint it. I’m going to stay on the hunt for good dresser to paint and someone needs to do it. Will that person be you? It should be.

You know of my love for the Bond Console by Jonathan Adler.

It’s my dream lover. Now, we’ll say in honor of Skyfall even though I had to Google “new Bond movie”, I have rekindled my love for it. Then, I found this dresser on Craigslist.

here

It’s not the same, obviously. However, it’s 1/3 the price. It’s tempting. But, it’s not as tempting as sharing this with you.

You’re welcome!

If you saw/received “Everything Must Go” this is the finished post.

If you’re in the need for some homegoods, I’m your girl. Due to a mixture of circumstances (a passion for decor, changing tastes, combining styles and furniture) The Mister and I have too much furniture and things. So, I’m getting rid of a good number of items. I’m listing them on Craigslist this week.

mid-century coffee table for $50.00

This picture doesn’t show it, but the supports holding the glass will need to painted. We prepped them to paint them white (they were scuffed) but never got around to it. It’s really sturdy and it was awesome for display and storage.

mid-century purple rocker/glider with footstool for $80.00

The fabric is in good condition and I’ve never seen anything like it.

Orange lamp with pink roses for $200.00

Surprisingly, The Mister isn’t sure about us getting rid of this orange flowered lamp. However, we haven’t used it/had a place for at least the past year. It’s in great shape.

Italian Gilt nesting tables for $90.00

One of the first things I ever purchased for our apartment. The top table does have some green on it. That’s why I didn’t list for these (here and here) prices. It is stamped “Made in Italy” and it’s hard to find a full set.

West Elm trestle dining table for $350.00

It measures 60″w X 40″d X 30.5″h and it seats 4-6 people. If this looks familiar it’s because we were going to sell it earlier. Then, decided to “use it” (sit it in the dining room) a little longer. Click here for more photos and information.

Set of mirror and wood side dressers/side tables for $180.00

They were originally $129.99 each at TJMaxx Homegoods and I still see them show up there at times. We’ve used them as side tables in our bedroom and end tables for our couch.

set of flowered art for $60.00

These came from Target a few years ago and were $80.00 each. They have a few small chips.

set of crystal lamps for $40.00

These came from Tuesday Morning and still have the tags on them for $39.99 each. One of the shades has some discoloring from the glue. Frankly, I always just put that shade facing the wall.

We have some more stuff that I’m going to list at the end of June. Some marble tables, more gilt, art, potentially some brass and rugs. So, stay tuned for Part 2.

If you want anything, email me. If you don’t want it, me neither. Duh. That’s why it’s for sale.

Yooohoooo bamboo

I’m happy not just about my cute blog post title but for a Craigslist find.

I’m coming to see you tonight.

I have to say the closed cabinet in the middle and on the bottom is likely not going to stay in our home. However, I have plans for the others. First, they’ll need to be painted. Obviously. Still, I understand if you still think it looks bland, outdated, potentially a problem. So, let me help you.

This picture of the dresser below is all over Pinterest.

These make me want to smack my mother even though yesterday was Mother’s Day.

The two colors I’m leaning towards are bright shiny red or dark shiny black. It’ll be shiny. Duh, it’s me we’re talking about.

Recently, while trolling my friend Craigslist I found an old office credenza for $35.00

here

I’m sure these pop up on Craigslist fairly often and they can easily be looked over. However, with such simple lines and flat faces it’s a great piece for an O’verlay. O’verlays are  fretwork panels that can be added to furniture to customize the look. Here are some examples from their site:

IKEA Lack Table Overlay Kit

I’d choose this option.

Paint it and add some pull hardware then you could have something that looks like this.

You better work it!

While searching my friend Craig’s list I found this “Mid-Century Modern Desk Designed by Raymond Loewy.”

I called the man but he hasn’t called me back. I woke up early Sunday morning to call him because it is great and reminds me of this. Additionally, I found this available and became even more excited about my Craigslist find. I’m sure someone has beat me to it.

This “China Cabinet” is available.

It’s the same as Jenny’s cabinets talked about here and here. However, there is only one and I’d need two.

Then, I found these two by the same seller. First, was “vintage retro futon.”

Second, ”Danish mid century modern sofa bed.”

I like the first one better. The Mister and I don’t have anywhere for someone to crash. This need hasn’t presented itself but we may have guests. Someday. When I have a better kitchen and am not ashamed.

Now, please cross your fingers the man with the desk calls me back. Send the good ju-ju.

Call me…it is still available…call me…it is still available…

This set of six mid-century chairs are ah-maz-ing. The set of six are $500.00 and seem to be in great condition.

They would look great around a skirted round table.

You could use four chairs around the table. Then, use the other two as occasional chairs. This is currently what The Mister and I do. Then, if we ever have six people over (doesn’t look promising) we have six chairs.

These chairs are completely different than what we have but have a great art deco look.

As I mentioned Tuesday, we’re selling our dining table. It is the 60″ Trestle Dining Table from West Elm and is no longer available. It measures 60″w X 40″d X 30.5″h and it seats 4-6 people. We sat it for both. As you probably know, I rarely cook. Therefore, it hasn’t been used that often and is in great shape. The glass top is very thick, the thickest we saw when looking and is nicely beveled around the edge. The trestle base is very sturdy and comes in two parts which makes it easy to move. The pictures below are our table and photos from the West Elm site.

We purchased it for a bit over $460.00.  It was on sale at that time and we are selling it for $400.00. Our Craigslist ad can be found here.

In “Rot and not” I showed you this couch/loveseat.

This Craigslist find was $100.00 and has been deleted. So, I hope somebody bought it. It looks pretty similar to this item on sale at Urban Outfitters.

Danish Modern Loveseat for $249.99

Then, there is this table on sale.

Two step table for $79.99

However, I like this better from Craigslist.

Found here for $35.00

Have you been searching my friend Craigslist for anything recently?
