Ballard Designs recently came out with the Sarah Storage Tower.
There are two options to make the combination above the shoe and boot tower and shoe and handbag tower. The one pictured is three towers put together. Each cubbie is lined with soft fabric to protect your shoes/handbags and all towers come in a “Brushed Taupe finish.”
I have wondered if it is named after Sarah Jessica Parker. I loved Sex in the City. However, the movies haven’t been enough for me. There have been a few highlights. The Halling Secretary and Carrie’s closet.
Sadly, our house has little closets. It’s been a struggle for me. My bedroom, growing up, had two closets. One had french doors and fairly large on its own. Then, my parents built a large walk in closet within my attic space. (The attics were built off the rooms on the second level.) The Mister and I are working on our lack of closet space. Currently, all my clothes and shoes live in our guest bedroom. Therefore, I occasionally call the guest bedroom “my room.” Do any of you do this too? If you all have walk in closets I may scream or move in with you.

ha! this is a very common gripe I hear about! All these old homes have tiny closets. WHY?? Where people not fashionable in the 50s? THey are on Mad Men.
Josh has the hall closet and I have my seasonals in the attic closets. I would take the hall from him if he’d let me.
I love Mad Men but Betty’s closet is a lie. That type of space was rare.
I too am a lover of a good closet. I want to see Oprah’s closet in person one day. My master closet has space, but it’s weirdly shaped. Definitely not as functional as my last closet. However, the love of my bathroom now outweighs the love of my closet. I’m learning to deal with a closet that isn’t perfectly cubed. We’ll see if that continues once there are actually clothes in it.
I would like to hear more of your closet woes. It makes me feel better. Is is already organized with racks or do you have to bring in a “closet specialist”?
My closet is brought to you by the number 7. It does not have shelves, as my last one did. The top part of the ’7′ shaped closet has plenty room to add shelving, which I will install. The longer part is probably 20 feet long, but seems a bit like a narrow hallway. I think my children will end up making this their go to hiding place for sure. Im hoping to figure out how to make it the most functional without hiring someone for this.
I live in a home that is only 12 years old and even we lack sufficient closet space. I think you know that I use our spare bedroom as “my room.” It works for us because we (used to) have opposite work schedules, so it worked for me to get ready in there so he could sleep uninterrupted. But the whole reason that started was because our master bedroom closet absolutely would not fit both our wardrobes. Now the spare bedroom is my room and holds all my clothes, shoes and jewelry. And it also contains an unsightly metal rack to hold the clothes that still wont fit in the closet.
So yes, I feel your pain.
