I’m on the prowl for a kitchen cart/island/thing. The space we have for the thing is 35″ wide. A large, unsafe unsteady cabinet was in the place that is now available. After painting it (cabinet shown in photo #2) we decided to say goodbye to it.

Suggestions?

Consider re-purposing that old microwave cart. The former owner of our house left his behind, so I drilled holes in it and added hooks for keys, shelves for card games we can play at the kitchen table, baskets for magazines and I made a charging station that’s hidden in the drawer.
As far as your list, I like the Ikea Stenstorp. It seems small, but functional, as if a microwave cart and an island had a furniture baby!
Maybe you can find one like it at a ‘lovelier’ discount near Rivergate? In Goodlettsville, there’s an Ashley Furniture as well as a lot of antique shops. My students also say the Goodwill in Green Hills is to die for.
You were super crafty with the microwave cart. That size is about what we need. Therefore, we probably will go with the smaller sized one at IKEA. We’ll be there next weekend.
However, this is good news about the Green Hills Goodwill. I go to the one in Berry Hill. I don’t know where the Goodwill location is. I feel a field trip/scavenger hunt in the works.
Next week, I have a post about beadboard and open shelving. I’d love to hear your opinion on that.
Also, did you mention the Big Ass Book of Crafts to me? I got the Big Ass Book of Home Decor from my director. I am diving into it this weekend.
